Cabaret of Memoirs (Lockdown)

Bringing People Together in Times of Social distancing!

In normal times, our Cabaret of Memoirs (funded by Age UK) would be bringing local older people to meet regularly to sing and perform at the local community centre. Because of social distancing, we can’t be together as we used to. So instead, we brought music to them so they can sing, share their stories and dance from their balconies or their front door. In times like these we realise even more the importance of maintaining social ties, being creative and keeping bodies and brains active. Today, our project is needed more than ever, so despite the challenges, our Cabaret will continue.

“The Coronavirus”, a poem written and performed by Cynthia - an 84 years old participant at Cabaret of Memoirs project by SeeThrough Theatre Company .
